General Information
- Satellite and HF Radio communications
- Low-level wind profiler up to 200m above platform level
- ASIMET Meteorological sensors suite including wind speed and direction, air temperature, air pressure, precipitation, and solar radiation
- Water temperature and salinity near the surface, mid-depth and bottom of the water column
- Water speed and direction throughout the water column
- Wave height, period and direction
- Scalable charging system to meet computer, sensor, and communication needs

Figure 5. Tower Metereological System -- Rain Gauge, Barometer, Temperature/Humidity, Long- and Short-wave radiation sensors are located next to main enclosure and solar panels. The acquisition computer, communications, and power distribution are located in the main enclosure.

Store binary, log and ascii data on Scintec Computer every 30 minutes. For realtime transmission grab the day's ascii file every hour. Daily binary file trasmitted once per day.

Eac ASIMET module has C530 microprocessor and stored calibration coefficients handling conversion to scientific units capable of providing raw and calibrated data. The "C" command after address gets latest 1 minute average of calibrated data. "B" gets both calibrated and raw. "V" gets last 1 hour average. "L" lists all the settings including calibration coefficients.
