Long Bay Wintertime Blooms

An NSF funded project to study the physical and biological conditions leading to and during wintertime blooms that occur off the east coast along the frontal boundary of the Gulf Stream. This study focuses on physical mechanisms of nutrient input from the slope to the outer shelf off Long Bay in winter and the response of the phytoplankton community.
